A few hours after this, Yosuke starts searching the house for Naoto because he's a bit overwhelmed.

"Hi?" he asks at the top of the basement steps, checking there first.

"Yes, Yosuke? Are you looking for something?" Naoto's voice comes up from the basement. "I am down here."

Yosuke comes down the stairs and walks up to her, kissing her to remind himself that there's one girl that likes him the way he wants her to.

She returns the kiss, but when she pulls back, there's a concerned look on her face. "What is wrong, Yosuke? What happened?"

[magiciansluck]

"Nothing bad," Yosuke says. "Something really good, actually. But somehow I feel bad anyway."

And he dislikes himself for it.

Her expression gets even more concerned. "What is it? Perhaps if we talk through it, you will feel better."

[magiciansluck]

"Uhh." Actually, now that he thinks about it, could she be mad at him for what happened? What if she thought he'd taken advantage of Rise, and thought less of him for it?

But he's already gotten into this and whatever happens will happen and he'll just beg for forgiveness if he needs to.

"Rise decided she wanted to give me a show."

"She has been doing that in the past few days." She shrugs. "Did something happen that worried you?" Her voice is concerned, not judgmental.

[magiciansluck]

"It didn't worry me, just..." He sighs, trying to figure out how to explain this. "I guess it kinda made me figure out I like her, not Risette. And that's stupid."

The last word is said vehemently, he truly believes it.

"Why is it stupid that you like Rise?" Naoto feels like she's missing something. "Are you worried about caring for more than one person?"

[magiciansluck]

"No," Yosuke says. He knows that's the norm here, and besides, he's always going to care about more than one person - Saki will never leave his heart. "I'm worried about caring for someone who will never care in the same way. Again."

"Why do you think that? Have you asked her about it?" A pause. "Because, I would doubt that is the case. She has a big heart, Yosuke."

[magiciansluck]

"I don't need to ask. She made sure it was clear that it was just fun between friends."

[shiroganeheir]

"Did you tell her that you care for her and not the idol? Because even if she does not care in the same way, I believe that would mean a lot to her." She stands on her tip toes and kisses him.

[magiciansluck]

He kisses her back, grateful for the physical contact and hugging her.

"Yeah, I did. I just thought it was in a friends way when I said it."

He didn't exactly figure out any feelings until after. He hadn't had the thought processes.

She hugs him back tightly. "Then perhaps you should tell her that. Perhaps not when she's being all... voyeur, however." It's... awkward to have love confessions while under the compulsion of a deity.

[magiciansluck]

"Maybe," Yosuke says doubtfully. He... doesn't really see a benefit to doing so.

[shiroganeheir]

She puts a hand on his cheek and kisses him. "I know you've been burned by that before, but especially here, it cannot hurt to tell her how much you care for her."

[magiciansluck]

"..I guess getting turned down is better than never getting a chance to say it at all."

Damn. Now he's thinking about Saki again. That is the opposite of what he wants from this conversation.

Naoto winces. "Yosuke, I'm sorry. I am terrible at this." She sighs, shaking her head. "I think what I am trying to say is that you should not worry about it. Rise cares about us all in her own way."

A pause. "I love her as well, but... possibly hypocritical from what I just told you, I do not believe I will ever tell her."

[magiciansluck]

"Why not? Anyone would love to hear that from you."

Yosuke speaks from experience.

[shiroganeheir]

"Rise is devoted to Souji. It would simply complicate things." Naoto shrugs. "Perhaps I am wrong in that assessment. I have never been very good at things when it comes to myself."

[magiciansluck]

"Everything's already hugely complicated," Yosuke says. "You gotta trust her to know what she can handle for herself."

[shiroganeheir]

A shrug. "Probably." She pauses, then takes his hand. "You should too, you know. She might react differently than you realize."

[magiciansluck]

"Let's make a pact to both do it," Yosuke decides out loud. "And then if it goes wrong, we can lick each other's wounds."

[shiroganeheir]

She looks at him, seriously, and nods. "Alright. I will."

[magiciansluck]

"And I will too."

He hugs her again.
