Naoto and Yosuke - Detectives

Early that morning, Naoto was called by the police to a crime scene to a crime scene across town. Tossing off a text to Yosuke, hoping that it would actually wake him up, she quickly dressed, grabbed an onigiri from the fridge, and took off to the scene.

Once she got there, she grabbed a coffee at a shop on the way, ducked under the crime scene tape, after being waved along by a few officers, and stood over the body. Couple of stabs to the chest, purse and ID still there. Nothing really notable. Yet. She hadn't begun to look. Now where the heck was Yosuke?

The text sort of wakes him up. (There's a reason he has his phone set to remind him every five minutes of waiting messages.) He's not sure how many repeats he went through but the message is enough to snap his groggy brain into action as he practically wheels out of bed to find clothes. He really should stop sleeping with his phone on vibrate.

He finally arrives at the tape with an overflowing cup of coffee (he would have brought her one if he thought she hadn't already stopped for her own), and is sucking on his burnt thumb when he finally comes up beside her. One look and the corpse and he's glad he didn't have time to snag something for breakfast. It wasn't the most gruesome body he'd seen but it was just gruesome enough to make the coffee sit awkwardly in his empty stomach.

"Sorry I really gotta stop sleeping with my cell on vibrate. What do we got?"

Must be new from Kanji, since he's pretty sure he hasn't seen her use it before. Which reminds him he wouldn't have burnt his thumb if he'd nabbed one at the coffee shop before he dashed out of there.

He listens without interruption as she runs down the immediately available information. Eyes matching up details with the state of the body, alert for details that weren't mentioned or lining up. Or just seemed out of place to start with.

"Credit cards?" Rudimentary question really, but they called them the basics for a reason, right?

"Maybe we'll be lucky and the attacker left their DNA under her nails." He takes a sip of his coffee studying the wounds to the woman's chest. Stabbing is an awfully personal way to kill someone if you don't know them. A gun would have been easier and relays as much to Naoto once he swallows.

He can see the scuff marks in the dirt, just barely contrasted in the dim lights the crime scene techs set up. They'd get pictures of those if only to prove there was a struggle for the jury.

"For her sake I hope stabbing was the worst the attacker did to her."

He'd been thinking the same thing, or well he was just coming to that decision. Being so close to the opening seems like an idiotic place to commit a murder if you're trying to get away with it. But then maybe he's a little jaded when certain things are taken into consideration.

Turning Yosuke heads over to where Naoto's crouched and whistles. That was blood. That was a lot of blood. Not sure how much but it was a lot more than a regular cut would let goo. "You think there was a second person?" Fishing for his keys he flicks on his penlight and scans the ground for a blood trail just to be sure. The alley wasn't the cleanest but nothing was reflecting in the light.

"No blood drops," He flashes the light around the nearby vicinity of them to double check that area too there's a few and then they suddenly disappear it seems several paces to their right into the adjacent back alley probably reserved for the trash pick-up for the buildings. "Second person and the murder took the body? Look the trail stops not far over there." But why take the body?

Yosuke crouches to study the tracks in turn, paying no mind how Naoto moves from one end of the alley and back again. He's grown used to her doing that sort of thing since she took him on. Not for the first time he wonders how she could distinguish the fluid as being one thing and not another just looking at it. Either way he stands and looks at her making a soft 'hm' as he combines story and evidence in his head.

"It's plausible. Not much more we can be sure of without more evidence anyway. And they'll probably molds of those tire tracks, so let me go get a tech." He waits a beat and then goes off in search of a crime scene tech to let them know about the blood and tired tracks further into the alley.
