Naoto and Yosuke - Detectives
Early that morning, Naoto was called by the police to a crime scene to a crime scene across town. Tossing off a text to Yosuke, hoping that it would actually wake him up, she quickly dressed, grabbed an onigiri from the fridge, and took off to the scene.
Once she got there, she grabbed a coffee at a shop on the way, ducked under the crime scene tape, after being waved along by a few officers, and stood over the body. Couple of stabs to the chest, purse and ID still there. Nothing really notable. Yet. She hadn't begun to look. Now where the heck was Yosuke?

He finally arrives at the tape with an overflowing cup of coffee (he would have brought her one if he thought she hadn't already stopped for her own), and is sucking on his burnt thumb when he finally comes up beside her. One look and the corpse and he's glad he didn't have time to snag something for breakfast. It wasn't the most gruesome body he'd seen but it was just gruesome enough to make the coffee sit awkwardly in his empty stomach.
"Sorry I really gotta stop sleeping with my cell on vibrate. What do we got?"

"Female, probably mid-twenties, stabbed twice. One of the stabs, looks like went straight into her heart. Either the killer has some amazing luck, or they knew what they were doing."
She points over at some police officers. "Station's backed up with a string of robberies so they called us in. They've identified her from her purse, and I don't think it was a robbery. No cash, but that could just be she didn't carry any."

He listens without interruption as she runs down the immediately available information. Eyes matching up details with the state of the body, alert for details that weren't mentioned or lining up. Or just seemed out of place to start with.
"Credit cards?" Rudimentary question really, but they called them the basics for a reason, right?
no subject
"They were there. A couple store cards, and a Visa, as well as a picture of some rather adorable kids."
She walks over to the other side of the body and squats down. "Hm. Looks like she struggled a bit, and scratched the assailant. Does not seem to be any sexual assault, but a doctor'll have to check that one."

He can see the scuff marks in the dirt, just barely contrasted in the dim lights the crime scene techs set up. They'd get pictures of those if only to prove there was a struggle for the jury.
"For her sake I hope stabbing was the worst the attacker did to her."
no subject
"This is a strange place for a stabbing. It's close enough to the road that if she struggled as much as it looks like, there should have been noise, and it doesn't look like anyone else came. Unless...."
She kneels down, close to the back of the alley. "Damn. Yousuke, come over here and look at this." She points to a wet, dark spot near the back of the small alley. "Does that look like blood to you?"
no subject
Turning Yosuke heads over to where Naoto's crouched and whistles. That was blood. That was a lot of blood. Not sure how much but it was a lot more than a regular cut would let goo. "You think there was a second person?" Fishing for his keys he flicks on his penlight and scans the ground for a blood trail just to be sure. The alley wasn't the cleanest but nothing was reflecting in the light.
"No blood drops," He flashes the light around the nearby vicinity of them to double check that area too there's a few and then they suddenly disappear it seems several paces to their right into the adjacent back alley probably reserved for the trash pick-up for the buildings. "Second person and the murder took the body? Look the trail stops not far over there." But why take the body?
no subject
Naoto thinks for a moment, standing up again and pacing around the area. Eventually, she walks back down the alley, glancing in. "Yosuke, I think I might know what happened. This victim was walking along the street out here."
She walks back to back of the alley, near the adjacent road. "Back here, there was some sort of vehicle. They were waiting for someone. Whoever it was came into the alley and stopped here." She points at the blood spot. "The culprits surprised the first victim, and likely killed them. While this was happening, this second victim came around the corner, trying to help the first, and she got killed as well. The second stab looks like it would have incapacitated her instantly. The culprits took the first body with them, and left out the back."
She looks over at him, face serious. "What do you think of that?"
no subject
"It's plausible. Not much more we can be sure of without more evidence anyway. And they'll probably molds of those tire tracks, so let me go get a tech." He waits a beat and then goes off in search of a crime scene tech to let them know about the blood and tired tracks further into the alley.
no subject
While the tech is working. Naoto starts pacing again. "So, our current victim came upon a murder in progress. Bad luck for her. But... this other victim. Why here? What did they do to...." She stops, shining her flashlight in the corner of the alley where it catches a dark shape.
Upon further examination, it is a computer bag, the computer itself gone, but in a back pocket is an ID for a prominent financial firm. "Yosuke! I...might have found the first victim."
