Milliways - The Bar at the End of the Universe. Multi-verse open RP!
It always starts with a door. A door opens, and instead of a bathroom, an office building, a coffee shop, a closet, there's a bar in that space.
Wooden chairs, tables, and booths are scattered around the room, with some overstuffed chairs and a fireplace with fish dancing in the flames. To one side is a trilobite tank, tiny creatures swimming around merrily. To the other side is a window, the Great Observation Window, where one can sit back and watch the universe end in explosions of starstuff. Don't worry. It repeats every day. And the bar never explodes. Or so everyone hopes.
The bar itself is well-stocked, with any beverage from any universe. Just ask Bar, and she'll produce whatever is requested. Really. She's sentient, so don't be mean. You might get poisoned. Or the curry might bodyswap you with your neighbor.
Out back is a lake with a giant squid, a forest, and a grassy open space. Underneath the bar is a garage with vehicles of all sorts, and there are rooms upstairs for sleeping or other activities.
So, come in, take a load off, and have a drink. Just remember the three rules: No outside business in the bar, take violence out back, and take sex upstairs.
Drink up!

Beer in hand, he plopped himself over by the fireplace, not at all bothered by the first swimming around in the flames. Sure it was weird, but weird what on par for the course when it came to his life, but at the same time it was kind of therapeutic. He could compare it to watching a lava lamp, at least.
Now excuse him while he gets a little drunk.

She looks up, over the top of the book and raises an eyebrow. "And why the excess of alcohol today? What was that bad this time?"
no subject
"That's a pretty long list; you sure you want that rant?"
no subject
Somewhat because the chair seems to want to swallow her whole at the moment, but she does seem quite comfortable.
"Besides, I have heard that having a rant is good for people."

"Well, there's the usual going on in the department," Adachi replied, before letting out a sigh. "I can have a better outlook all I want, but in the end, the other detectives in Inaba... kinda suck."
no subject
"Most detectives in police departments are terrible. Even the ones not in small towns. Is there at least an interesting case?"
She's not holding her breath.

To her side are a couple bottles of Ramune and some wasabi peas for a snack. She's mostly oblivious to what's going on around her, but she wouldn't mind company.
[OOC: Let me know if you want a specific game continuity or a more canon version!]
OH HEY I CAN USE THE GHOST ADACHI HERE
So of course, the ghost saw no reason to object to a bar showing up. Grabbing a drink, he placed himself near the window, clearly enjoying what was going on outside.
no subject
WHAT?!
He stared down at his drink, like it would tell him that he really was seeing things, but that translucent Adachi was still very much there. This was so weird...
So of course the natural reaction was to get closer and try and poke him.
no subject
Well, this was new.
How the hell were you supposed to react to seeing another version of yourself, one that's alive no less?
"Ah... hello there?"
no subject
...did ghosts piss?
He frowned to himself, before finally looking up at him. There were about a million questions on his mind and all of them were pretty terrible and rude, but he wasn't sure where to start.
"...so you're kinda dead, hunh?"
Perfect.

In the end he ends up looking at the window before anything else, as he glances up and sees what's happening. Now that is a little different, now that is the one thing that could have him surprised. Seeing the universe end isn't exactly a daily occurrence.
He's barely made it out of the doorway and he's blocking the way of anyone else who wants to come in. Maybe he should be led inside, because until he is, he's just going to look like a dumb fish standing there with his eyes wide open.

(It'd be one thing at home. It'd be one thing if he hadn't run a bar for centuries, that one jaunt. But this isn't home, and he does have that experience, so everyone else can deal with it.)
What is noteworthy, though, are the people who come in sometimes - especially since this is the first time Naoki can think of that he might be meeting someone from home. "Narukami-san?"
no subject
In his timeline, he knows Naoki well enough to be casual with him.
no subject
"Well, what do you expect from a bar at the end of the universe? It doesn't come in, but it can be a little disconcerting. As for why we're here, your guess is as good as mine."

They can start from there, and figure out how detailed of an explanation Narukami-san's going to need as they go along.

"Are you mixed up in the case?"
If he is, he'll know what Naoki means... and that'll confirm they're on different timelines.

"Who's your Wild Card?"
no subject
"I don't think you'd like that answer," he says with a slight laugh.
no subject
"Kanji's mine. When is it for you?"
no subject
"July. Kanji's your Wild Card?" Thinking about it, Yu supposes it makes sense. Kanji had a lot of potential and it just needed to be explored.
no subject
"He sure is. Who else would he start investigating with? Who else did he have to start investigating with?"
Answer: Pretty much no one. He'd scared them all off, except Naoki.
"March. You guys probably still have a ways to go yet, but we're done."

Teddie being... himself, there's no way he wouldn't come bother someone sticking their nose into his space.
no subject
He has a very good feeling about it, and he trusts his own instincts.

"We didn't start looking into things until... after. And I don't know if we would have had enough time to do anything if we'd started earlier."
