[The game started out alright, but turned bad about halfway through. Instead of saving people, for whatever reason the teams turned on themselves. Lapis had gotten the brunt of everyone's ire at Henwen, somewhat through her own lack of self-preservation, somewhat due to dumb luck.
Thus, she is on the ground in the main Echo chamber after the game, bleeding, half-conscious, and looking very much the worse for the wear.]
[ Ochre stalks out of the Tiamat room looking- well, pissed.
Room-wide rage status effects do that to you, after all.
He can barely move his hand, since he'd broken it when he pulled his punch on one of his teammates, choosing instead to punch the wall. Save that, however, he got away with mostly mental effects, ones that apparently aren't coming off all that soon.
He's flexing his hand when he runs into Lapis, almost literally, he steps on her cloak before he looks down, and seeing her on the ground makes him snap. ]
Media!
[ He casts it a couple times more, ignoring the bones in his hand snapping into place as he crouches down next to her. ]
[ Ochre doesn't even hesitate, just moves to prop her up, sending a glare around the room at anyone who's daring to look in their direction for too long. ]
Dunno. Shit game got shittier with some kinda mind thing.
[ Depending on how long she's out, she might wake up when Ochre walks up to a nondescript house in the middle of the village, having to jostle her slightly to open the door.
Inside is- excatly like every other house in the village. Dusty, with whatever food or usable items inside already picked clean by some team or another.
Still, the way Ochre makes his way towards the stairs implies he's been here before, and knows where he's going. ]
[She does wake up when he opens the door, turning her head to peer around, curiously. The nap did not do much for either her pain or her frustration, but somehow, she's a bit more settled.]
Where are we? I don't think I recognize this place.
Onna the houses in the village. I've holed up here a couple times before.
[ He reaches the top of the stairs and turns right, into what looks like it might have been a master bedroom. If it had been looted already, it was a cursory one- the curtains were drawn and the bed was still neatly made.
The bed that Ochre's approached to set Lapis down on. ]
[ Once she releases him, he moves back to the door of the room shutting it and moving a chair in front of it. There's tracks in the dust that show it's been moved a couple times before.
After that, he moves over to the window, peering out of the curtains.
There's only one person out on the street, and they're ducking into a house down the way.
Nodding, he pulls back, setting the curtains back in place ]
[She watches him as he moves around and takes a shaky breath, letting it out only when the curtains close.
As vindictive as the game was, it is likely good that they're somewhere no one can find them, and even with Ochre's busted hand, and her busted... everything, if someone tries to come in, they'll be alright.]
Good. I really don't know what anyone was thinking. Or, really, they weren't.
Whatever that asshole Echo was tellin' them ta, probably.
[ He's on edge, holding himself together through sheer force of will and the knowledge that he's been through this effect before, and he managed to come out the other end just fine, without actually attacking anyone.
Didn't help when all he'd seen were those bright yellow eyes and too-toothy smiles ]

What happened?
[She tries to sit up, but just barely gets there, falling back quickly.]

[ Damn echos can get bent ]
Come on, let's get you outta here.

I... think most of my team ended up mind-controlled. I got thrown under the metaphorical bus.
[She takes a breath, obviously painfully, and nods.]
Thanks. I, er, do not think I can walk, and I think my team left.
no subject
I bet they did.
[ Fuckers.
...not that Ochre knows or cares about where his team is, right now.
Moral relativity is great, isn't it? Either way, he starts out of the tower, headed towards- somewhere that isn't either of their dorms. ]

As much as she can, she reaches one hand up and clings to his shirt. She'd wrap her arms around his neck, but not really at this moment.]
Thank you. I'm pretty useless right now.

It's fine, I got you.

[She feels much better knowing that he's holding her, the slight almost-pain from his grip settling her, breaths evening out.
It isn't long before she passes out just a bit.]

[Extremely reluctantly, she lets go of his shirt so he can put her down on the bed.
Once there, she winces as she tries to prop herself up enough to talk to him.]
It's not a bad place, really.

[She sighs, just watching him silently for a moment, and shaking her head.]
I...wish they wouldn't do that to us. What is in it for them? Rotten doesn't run trauma games, and she's one of the more powerful Echoes.
[Her voice is tired, much more worn down than usual, and perhaps just a bit defeated.]

[ He glances over at her from his post by the window, peering through a crack in the curtains ]
Easy power, I guess. Who cares, since they didn't seem all broke up about the fact that people were gettin' hurt.

[Lapis sighs. She's never understood why people can't seem to allow people to make mistakes, but this isn't the time for that.
She shrugs at him, still tired, still looking smaller than usual.]
Asshole. At least realize that what you're doing is hurting people. That's the least you can do.

[She sighs, leaning back and wincing. Everything hurts, and people are stupid.]
I think we'll be fine here for a while. After that shit show, I doubt anyone'll be looking for me for a while.
