Yu/Yosuke/Naoto - September 2014 - Study Party

College was going just about as well as Naoto expected, however, after dumping Medicine and biology quickly for a much more comfortable sociology and criminal justice, she was at least less inclined to hide in her apartment and ignore the world.

This day, however, she was going to Yu and Yosuke's for a probably late-night study session over an annoying math course. Shifting her bag to another shoulder, she stood outside, and rang the buzzer for their apartment.

"Sure, if you pay for it," Yu says with a laugh. "I hadn't exactly planned on that."

"I'll get it, don't worry." Naoto smiles over at Yosuke from the kitchen. "If you order it, Yosuke, my wallet's in my bag if you want to give them my credit card number."

[magiciansluck]

"Aw, sweet!" Yosuke grabs his phone and heads to get the wallet, giving her a grateful grin. "Yu, you've got like the best girlfriend ever."

"Yes," Yu says with a smile, looking at her. "I do."

Naoto shakes her head, blushing as she finishes making her tea. "Stop it, both of you or I won't pay for dinner. All I ask, Yosuke, is something with extra cheese."

"Aw man, and here I was just complimenting you." Yosuke orders the dinner quickly, getting an extra cheese, half pepperoni and half shrimp pizza.

She rolls her eyes, amused, then goes to her bag, pulling out her math notebook and textbook. "Aright, boys. Let's get started on this, alright? I am not in the mood to deal with this math all evening."

"Shouldn't take too long," Yosuke says after he runs to his room to get his books and returns. "It's not like math is hard, and I'm here to help."

He likes having even just one thing schoolwise that he's smart in. It feels kinda great.

Yu's probably better than Yosuke in math, but he won't say anything. He'll let his partner have this. So he just gets his own books and sets them on the dining room table.

"It is not hard, true, it is just tedious, and I am not particularly in the mood to fight it."

She sighs, putting tea, book and notebooks on the table, sitting between the boys.

"Let's get this done."

It takes awhile of studying before the pizza arrives, and Yosuke jumps up immediately to get the door, bringing it back with him. He's staaaarving, and he bets they are too!

Yu gets up to get plates from the kitchen and brings them back as well. Of course they could just eat straight from the box, but he prefers it neater this way.

"Time to dig in."

"Thank you both." Naoto smiles, clearing some space for the pizza and plates. "Be careful, Yosuke, you don't want to get grease on your notes again."

[magiciansluck]

"Ack!" Yosuke grabs his notes and very quickly puts them in a safe spot. "That woulda sucked."

"Like how it sucked the other thousand times you did?"

Yu may be exaggerating slightly.

Naoto actually giggles, a gentle smile in Yosuke's direction. Reaching over, she ruffles his hair a bit, before looking back down at her notes.

"Back to work?"

[magiciansluck]

Yosuke smiles back at her because of the ruffling. "Yeah," he agrees, his gaze lingering on her for a few moments before he goes back to his notes.

"Should we study for another hour and then take a break?" Yu asks. He was flipping his pages and so he didn't see the lingering gaze, but even if he had, he wouldn't have minded.

"That sounds like a very good idea. I think we're almost there anyway."

After a little over an hour, Naoto stretches in her chair and thwaps her book shut.

"Alright, I am done with this. I do not need to see another equation for the rest of the day."

[magiciansluck]

"Oh thank god," Yosuke expresses. He might be good at math but that doesn't mean he likes doing it, especially not for an extended period. It's as boring as any other schoolwork! "What do we do now?"

"We veg out," Yu says. "Watch tv for a little while. Relax."

Naoto gets up, and collects the plates from the table. "Yosuke, can you get rid of the trash, and Yu, can you... figure out something to watch?" She takes the plates to the kitchen and rolls up her sleeves to start rinsing them for a bit.

"Aw, why's he get the easy job?" Yosuke grumps, but does it anyway. It's not really all that much skin off his back, he just likes complaining.

"Because I am allergic to garbage," Yu says, in an absolutely sincere voice. "But you can channel surf if you're that mad about it."

"If you're allergic to garbage, then why are you living with someone you found in a trash can?"

Naoto's tone is utterly deadpan. Mostly.
