[Everything from earlier is so far away, barely a blip on his radar. He has his best friend, good food, and a safe spot to enjoy both. He smiles almost tearfully.]

[Matt grins, reaching over to give his friend a huge hug.]

[Keith hugs back, burying his face in Matt's shoulder as a few tears escape. He's not upset, but he was pretty pent up for a while and the relief is a bit overwhelming.]

You always are, and I'm glad. That's why I want to protect you...because you've been looking out for me since we met.

[He just holds Keith tight, right there in their blanket fort, safe from everyone and everything that could hurt them. It's all he could really want.]

[Keith nestles closer, letting a few more tears fall. It's just the pent-up emotion; the incident in class bothered him more than he let on even to himself, plus everything with that crowd earlier. But none of that's here, we're safe, Matt's okay now.]

[He keeps holding Keith, quietly running a hand through his hair to comfort him. It'll be alright. I know it will. We just have to get through this, and get to the better stuff later.]
